🌍 Summer Tour Highlights: Ozora
This summer, we returned to Ozora and Modem to reignite the cyberdelic spirit with a much stronger offering.
At Ozora Festival, we delivered a talk titled "Transframing the Reality Gap: From Machine-Like Humans to Humane Technology."
The presentation explored how AI is revealing that our greatest breakthroughs will come not from technology itself, but from how these tools reshape our understanding of reality and our relationship to each other and the planet.
We discussed the challenge of maintaining an "optimal grip" on reality when AI-generated experiences become indistinguishable from authentic ones, creating a "reality gap" where humans become increasingly machine-like living in hyper-realities.
Drawing from cognitive science, human-centered design, and cyberdelic technologies, we explored frameworks for "transframing" our relationship with technology to enhance our capacity for wisdom, presence, and relational depth.
At the heart of the concept of transframing is the recognition that to navigate our increasingly complex and disorienting relationship with technology, we need new cognitive frameworks, or "frames", through which to perceive and interpret our reality.
Transframing involves consciously shifting between different frames of reference to gain a more complete understanding of our technological environment.
Unlike simply reframing a situation (seeing it from a new angle), transframing involves developing the capacity to move fluidly between multiple perspectives and levels of awareness.
It's about transcending our default ways of perceiving technology and cultivating a meta-awareness that helps us maintain our humanity while engaging with increasingly sophisticated tools.
The talk resonated strongly with the audience, sparking fascinating discussions and ideas. We were fortunate to be quoted in the Ozorian Prophet (Ozora's newspaper) and invited by Radio Ozora to conduct an interview.
