A prototype mind-machine visor using rhythmic flickering light to evoke closed-eye visual patterns and support meditative attention.
ℹ️Experience Information
About the experience
ZenSpecs / SerenSpecs by Alexx Chaos uses programmable light pulses through closed eyelids. The prototype is for research and experimentation, is not a medical device, and requires explicit photosensitivity screening and consent.
Important Notice
This device is not suitable for those with photosensitive epilepsy. This device is currently in development. Pre-Orders will be fulfilled when certification is complete.
Prototype units intended for research, experimentation, and testing purpose are available upon specific request for research professionals only.
Not intended for medical use, diagnosis, treatment, or prevention of any condition. By purchasing, you acknowledge this device is sold “as is” without certification and is not for consumer or therapeutic use.
🌀 Context Engineering Tips:
‣ Safety first: Screen for photosensitivity, epilepsy, and migraine sensitivity before starting. If unsure, don’t run the experience.
‣ Set + setting: Use a calm, dim-to-dark space; reduce interruptions; invite the guest to recline comfortably (stillness helps).
‣ Start gentle: Begin with the lowest comfortable brightness/frequency and increase only if the guest asks.
‣ Eyes closed, relaxed breath: Encourage soft belly breathing and an “observe, don’t force” mindset if visuals arise.
‣ Session pacing: Aim for ~10–20 minutes; shorter for first-timers. Offer a clear “you can stop anytime” reminder.
‣ Orientation + integration: After stopping, give 1–2 minutes to re-adjust to ambient light, then offer one simple reflection prompt.
‣ Troubleshooting basics: If it won’t power on, charge it. If it glitches, power-cycle and re-select the program.
🎛️ Facilitator Cheat Sheet
Extra explicit consent is required for ZenSpecs. This prototype uses rhythmic flickering light with closed eyes. Do not proceed until the guest understands the method, passes the photosensitivity screening, and actively agrees.

Say:
“ZenSpecs uses rhythmic flickering light over closed eyes and can create strong visual or altered-state effects. You may stop immediately at any time. Do you understand this and actively consent to continue?”
Do not proceed with seizure/photosensitive epilepsy history, uncertainty, current migraine warning signs, relevant eye conditions, intoxication, or inability to give clear consent.
How to facilitate
- Fully charge and inspect the prototype; prepare a calm dim seated/reclined station.
- Explain prototype/research status and that it is not a medical device.
- Fit comfortably; begin with the lowest suitable program/intensity.
- Remain present and monitor tension, distress, headache, nausea, or sudden movement.
- Stop and remove the visor immediately on request or adverse signs.
- Allow 1–2 minutes to readjust to ambient light; ask: “What changed in your visual field or state of attention?”
Troubleshooting
- No power → charge and check connection.
- Program glitches → power-cycle and reselect the approved program.
- Too intense → stop immediately; do not simply ask the guest to endure it.
- Unresolved/safety uncertainty → mark unavailable and escalate to Jose or Tirso.
