A simple mixed-reality experience that overlays Matrix-inspired code onto the physical world. Open the experience, orient the guest, and let them roam freely through a familiar reality transformed by digital code.
ℹ️Experience Information
About the experience
Enter the Matrix is a mixed-reality layer on reality that lets you see the code hidden beneath the world while reviving the nostalgia of The Matrix films.
The experience is intentionally simple: the guest enters the mixed-reality environment and roams around, observing how the familiar physical space is transformed by a layer of Matrix-inspired code.
🌀 Context Engineering Tips:
- Frame the Reality Shift: Invite the guest to imagine that the visible world is only a surface and that the experience reveals the code operating underneath it.
- Keep Instructions Minimal: There are no complex objectives. Explain how to stop, establish the safe roaming area, and let curiosity guide the experience.
- Encourage Spatial Exploration: Suggest looking closely at familiar objects, surfaces, and people to notice how the digital layer changes their perception of the physical world.
- Use the Nostalgia: A short Matrix-inspired introduction can create recognition and anticipation without overexplaining what the guest will see.
- Reflect on the Hidden Layer: Afterward, ask whether the overlay made physical reality feel more constructed, artificial, or newly noticeable.

Explain room-scale movement and that the headset boundary will be disabled in a supervised area
Boundary & safety setup
- Turn off the headset boundary setting before the experience so the system does not interrupt free roaming.
- Only disable the boundary after creating a dedicated, cleared, level, and supervised roaming area.
- Remove cables, furniture, sharp objects, trip hazards, and access to stairs or drop-offs.
- Keep a facilitator positioned as an active spotter throughout the session. Do not allow the guest to leave the approved area.
- Confirm passthrough/MR tracking and lighting are stable before fitting the headset.
- Restore the normal boundary setting when the headset leaves this controlled station.
How to facilitate
- Clear and inspect the roaming area, assign an active spotter, and disable the headset boundary setting.
- Open Enter the Matrix and confirm that the mixed-reality code layer and tracking are working.
- Tell the guest: “This experience reveals Matrix-inspired code beneath the reality around you. There is no objective—simply roam, look around, and explore.”
- Fit the headset, establish the stop/help signal, and point out the limit of the supervised roaming area.
- Let the guest explore without unnecessary direction. Continuously spot their movement and prevent them from approaching hazards or leaving the area.
- End the session gently, remove the headset, and ask: “Did seeing the code change how real or constructed the space felt?”
Troubleshooting
- Code layer does not appear → confirm the correct experience is open, passthrough permissions are enabled, and relaunch.
- MR tracking drifts or jumps → improve lighting, clean tracking cameras, recenter, and remap the space.
- Boundary interrupts the experience → confirm it is disabled only after the controlled roaming area and spotter are ready.
- Guest approaches a hazard → intervene immediately, guide them back to the center, and stop if safe roaming cannot be maintained.
- App freezes → quit and relaunch; restart or swap the headset if needed.
- Unresolved → mark unavailable and escalate rather than improvising.
